A few of you may be surprised that there exist any strategies at all for this seemingly random game. But there are a few tried-and-trusted methods that can help you rake in the chips…from time to time. The trick is to know when and how to apply them.
The advice you’ll find is by no means exhaustive, but instead represents a simple primer that should help improve your understanding of how to tackle this iconic and occasionally ruinous casino game. The Martingale Roulette Strategy
The Martingale Strategy is one of the most widely employed online roulette strategies and is pretty easy to use. After each time you lose, double your bet. Uh, that’s it. The idea is that you’ll eventually recoup all of your losses. However, the best way to maximise its effectiveness is to restrict your wagering to even-money outside wagers such as black or red, even or odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36.
The D’Alembert Strategy
This particular strategy is considered a low-risk system and is intended for even-money bets. Because of its simplicity, it’s also well-suited to newbies, requiring you to increase your wager by one when you lose and decrease it by one when you win. Although there’s more of a chance that you’ll make a loss, they won’t be anywhere near as bad if you endure a run of ‘bad luck’.
The Fibonacci Strategy
A Fibonacci tactic is also a low-risk approach that’s geared towards even-money outside bets. For roulette, you start by betting an amount based on the following sequence: 1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89-144-233-377-610-987. As you can see, each number in the sequence is a sum of the previous number. So, you start by betting an amount corresponding to the first number. When you lose, you move on to the next number, betting an equivalent amount. Every time you win, you move back two numbers. Should you reach the beginning of the sequence again, keep betting an amount that corresponds to the first number…
The Paroli Strategy (Reverse Martingale System)
The Paroli method is the opposite of the Martingale strategy and is a tried and trusted positive betting system that’s been in use for more than 100 years. Instead of increasing your stake when you lose, you double your bet after winning. If you lose (and you will), you bet a predetermined minimum base stake. Like the Martingale and D’Alembert strategies, its basic premise makes it especially accessible to newcomers and those of you looking to try your hand at basic online roulette strategies. With that said, you should reserve its application for outside bets which offer far more favourable odds that single pocket wagers.
